Let me make it very clear that I am not Ernie Ashbury and please, let me explain why I have this blog.

It would have been in the later part of 2012 on one of my frequent trips to the Souks of Morocco that I was privileged to obtain a copy of Ernie's legendary sales book, 'Selling..Sales Secrets of a Souk Salesman".

This book does exist (contrary to established authorities who have stated otherwise) and I do have in my hands a copy of this work. With this blog, I will share the Sales Secrets of a Souk Salesman

It will go viral...new secret to Souk Salesman book

17 Secrets...Ernie must be planning a sequel, an updated version to Secrets of a Souk Salesman
as in my copy of his book there are only 16 secrets...could this be the 17th Secret??

In actual fact there are only 17 secrets and the first one is that 17 is a sacred sales number. But it actually doesn't count as one of the 17.

Number one is to have in your heart and your mind and your soul that you truly deserve this sale regardless of customer need. Never be distracted or confused by customer need or lack of customer desire.

THE LEGEND OF ERNIE ASHBURY

My first 'hint' of a super sales technique came many years ago when I was selling accordions door to door in the Tonawanda Lackawana and Cheektowaga area of New York State. It was the winter of 99 and it was oh so very cold. I recall this day like it was yesterday I had just sold my quota of accordions for the week and was riding high on my success. Our newest salesman by the name of Hamza walked into the office with his 5th sale of the week ! Five in one week, it was unheard of ! I asked Hamza what was his secret, how could he break all records for accordion sales in such a short period of time; he had only been with us for 2 weeks! Hamza just smiled, a sort of knowing gentle smile and said he knew the secrets of sales and it was something he learned while selling in the Souks of Morocco. Hamza would say no more but I wanted to learn more from this Hamza. Over the next many months Hamza continued to excel and continued to break all accordion sales records but he would say no more to me about this 'method'.

Then one day I was standing close to him while he was on the

phone with his brother and he was speaking in his native language and I guess he did not know I was standing so close but I then heard him say to his brother, he says"...(words I don't understand)...Ernie Ashbury." Hamza then turned around and saw me nearby and said some things to his brother, he said them very fast and then hung up the phone.

Hamza looked at me, he had that way of looking at you that is very friendly but also not so friendly and he asked me if I heard what he said. I truthfully answered that all I heard was

Ernie Ashbury and Hamza's jaw dropped and he turned white as a white sheet. Hamza swore me to an oath to never mention that name again. Hamza made me promise this. So I did but only if he told me the importance of this name.

Hamza I could see was troubled, he was uncertain of what to say. I said to him, I asked him if this was the technique of sales, from Ashbury and I could see from his expression it was. Shortly after this I decided to see what I could find about this Ernie Ashbury school of sales. This would take me to many fine adventures in Morocco and this would take me to this blog.
